About Us

Our Story

Believeability was founded by Michael Cham, who brings over 25 years experience supporting people with disabilities. Driven by a passion for fostering inclusion and connection for people with disabilities, Michael created Believeability Adventures in 2016. Since our inception, Believeability has supported people with disabilities make genuine friendships, engage in activities they never thought possible and access meaningful opportunities. Michael also recognised the need for tailored supports for young people with disabilities transitioning from school to work, which inspired the launch of Believeability’s employment and life skills programs. Today these programs continue to showcase what people with disabilities can achieve with the right supports in place.

Through Believeability, our mission is to create a community for people with disabilities where they feel safe and valued. We recongise how hard it can be to put yourself out there, in both your social and working life. Our programs aim to break down these barriers and focus on nurturing personal growth, build confidence, and create a genuine opportunity for people with disabilities to gain meaningul employment, build friendships and social connections.

Since joining Believability Grace has become a much more confident, mature and independent young woman. This has developed from the support and encouragement received from Michael and his team of support workers. This is the first group that Grace has enjoyed being a part of, feeling that she belongs and has friends for the first time in her life.

Grace looks forward to attending the Saturday outings every week, as well as having midweek independent living skills support at home. This has helped her develop everyday skills at home, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning and organising her own room, as well as travel training to catch the local bus. It has been so encouraging seeing the positive changes as Grace’s confidence and independence has continued to develop.

I wanted to share our positive experience we have had with you and the team. My son’s Milton and Andrew have been a part of the Believability, SLES and social activity program. The program has given the confidence and the development for my sons to help support them in their adult years. We have seen a massive improvement in their interaction, understanding and comprehension with people and life skills. Milton now has employment with St George Leagues Club and Andrew is doing work experience.

The team at Believability helped to gain employment opportunities for my sons. I cannot thank the team enough for all they have done and continue to do for Milton and Andrew.
